Maryland Panhandle

The time-worn mountains of western Maryland hide a pristine province where forests grow thick, and the rivers run deep. The tiny mountain towns in this area have cozy inns and old tales of frontier wisdom. Visit the Casselman Bridge of Grantsville as you view the beautiful fall colors in the region. The Mennonites and Amish have mostly populated this mountain village since the 1800s.

The Massachusetts Mohawk Trail

River-bottom farmlands, forested mountains and explosive colors during the fall season have turned the Massachusetts Mohawk Trail into a traveler’s paradise. A floral cascade truly blankets the stream-side trail at the Bridge of Flowers. This 60-mile long trail is accessible all year long but is considered the best for experiencing the fall foliage.

Enjoy some delicious local food while you are exploring this fantastic drive.

The Olympic Peninsula

Enjoying the views of fall is possible in the northwestern part of the country as well. The Olympic peninsula route begins in Seattle, Washington. Driving through this route, you will get a chance to encounter the abundant wildlife of the northwest. Hike through Lake Crescent to get a stunning view of the 90-foot waterfall. A drive through the entire peninsula is about 350 miles. The foliage in Seattle starts a little later than August. So, have you got the itinerary ready already?

New Hampshire White Mountain Wonderland
